Industrially produced materials demonstrate strong strength and durability performance following successful scale-up in Belgium.

Paving products manufactured at a Heidelberg Materials-owned precast facility in Germany using CEM II/C-M cement containing 20% EnviCore SCM produced from recycled concrete.

CALGARY, Alberta - September 8th, 2026- EnviCore Inc. today announced the successful completion of a comprehensive validation program conducted with Heidelberg Materials for supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) produced from construction and demolition waste using EnviCore’s proprietary mineral-processing technology.

The validation program builds on EnviCore’s earlier industrial-scale trial in Belgium, where approximately 5 tonnes of SCMs were produced from two distinct recycled concrete feedstocks supplied by Heidelberg Materials. The produced SCMs were subsequently evaluated by Heidelberg Materials in cement and concrete formulations at replacement levels of up to 30%.

Testing covered workability, compressive strength, carbonation, freeze-thaw resistance, chloride migration and water penetration. The industrially produced materials demonstrated strong overall performance, including excellent freeze-thaw resistance with air entrainment, robust resistance to water ingress and improved chloride-migration performance compared with corresponding laboratory-produced materials and locally available fly ash.

“This program demonstrates that the materials produced through our industrial process can deliver strong and consistent performance across strength, durability and practical application testing,” said Aseem Pandey, Co-founder and CTO of EnviCore. “It is an important step beyond process scale-up and toward commercial validation of SCMs produced from recycled mineral resources.”

One of the industrially produced SCMs was also incorporated at 20% into a CEM II/C-M cement and used to manufacture paving products at a Heidelberg Materials-owned precast facility in Germany. At 28 days, the products achieved splitting tensile strengths of 5.1–5.4 MPa and compressive strengths of 40.7–49.4 MPa. The splitting tensile strength results exceeded the applicable requirements for the paving products evaluated.

The next phase of the collaboration is expected to include the construction of an outdoor demonstration pathway using paving products manufactured during the program. The installation will enable long-term monitoring and evaluation of performance under real-world exposure conditions.

About EnviCore

EnviCore is a clean technology company developing proprietary mineral-processing and activation technologies that transform low-reactivity industrial minerals, construction and demolition waste, mine tailings and natural mineral resources into high-performance supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) for cement and concrete. EnviCore’s feedstock-flexible technology platform is designed to improve the reactivity, performance and consistency of underutilized mineral resources, enabling increased clinker substitution, lower-carbon cement and concrete production, and more efficient use of locally available materials.
